During our first night in North Dakota the moon turned a dark orange and a lunar eclipse followed. A spectacular sunrise greeted us the following morning.
Our first destination is the Dunn County Courthouse to look for records that might offer an idea about the actual location of the tiny town of Fayette.
Even on back roads, the truck traffic is constant. About every half mile we pass an oil pad or a salt water disposal unit. The view of small farms, cattle, and buttes today includes pumps, pipes, and tanks. The oil industry is just about everywhere.
